Fans Would Get The Chance To Watch Mariah Carey’s Life As A Young Singer In New TV Drama

Mariah Carey’s early years are set to be the basis of a new TV drama. She will team up with friend, and Hollywood power player, Brett Ratner for the drama. It will be set in 1986 when a bi-racial girl who wants to be a singer arrives in New York City to follow her dreams. The show would give Mariah’s fans insight into some of the dramatic episodes into her life; her mother was disowned for marrying a black man, while she would become estranged from her sister Allison (who is HIV positive) and has been slammed in the media by her brother Morgan.Carey, 48, grew up poor and worked as a waitress briefly while trying to make it in the music business. She would then marry, and divorce, Tommy Mottola — the record company boss who championed her career. Carey would later compare being married to him like imprisonment. Carey has now sold over 200 million albums worldwide and is now touring the US opening for Lionel Richie.Photo Credit: Getty
