All hands are sweaty and all nerves are fidgety right now in the environs of Microsoft Centre in California as the hours count down towards the BET Awards 2017. But before the main event, the international acts gathered for an undercard round as the best of black entertainment outside the United States were recognised and honoured. Up for nomination from the African crew for the Best International Act were Wizkid, Nasty C, Tekno, Mr Eazi, AKA, Stonebwoy and Babes Wodumo with Starboy boss Wizkid going home with the award.
Music was not the only winner of the day as fashion made a loud statement too. South African duo Pearl Thusi and Nomzamo Mbatha were the obvious style stars of the event but fellow country woman Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Ghanaian singer Becca gave them a tough run for their money.
