Here is everything we know about their feud. It might have started from the first public sign which was when Kanye went on a rant on Nov. 19, 2016.
He was performing in Sacramento, California when he claimed Beyoncé agreed to perform at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards only if she would win Video of the Year for “Formation.” She did end up winning the award that year. He also claimed that Jay Z wouldn’t return his calls. “There will never be a Watch the Throne 2,” revealed Kanye. He later said, “Don’t call me, after the robbery, and say ‘How you feelin’?’ You wanna know how I’m feeling? Come by the house. Bring the kids by the house, like we’re brothers.” However, after Jay Z’s 4:44 was released, TMZ reported that their feud started following this very rant, which happened before Kanye’s hospitalization. Fans of Kanye don’t think it’s right that Jay Z is holding it against him.It should also be noted that their kids reportedly haven’t played together yet.
This might be surprising considering how close the two rappers were. But one thing that Kanye also revealed during his concert rant is that the two haven’t had their kids spend time with each other yet. “Bring the kids by the house like we’re brothers,” he pleaded. “Let’s sit down… I can’t take this s**t bro. Our kids have never even played together.” Another thing that came between the former best friends was Jay Z’s refusal to perform on the song “Pop Style.” It seems like the decision was made because Jay Z is in business with Tidal while Drake has an exclusive deal with Apple.
Kanye talked about the situation during his concert rant when he said there was some “Apple-Tidal bullsh*t.” Kanye reportedly also left Tidal over a money dispute, according to TMZ. Sources claim the rapper believes the company owes him money and hasn’t been happy with the music service for a long time. Kanye’s lawyer reportedly sent Tidal a letter There have been certain occurrences leading up to Kanye’s departure from the company. The rapper’s lawyer reportedly sent a letter to Tidal claiming they were in breach and that their contract is terminated, according to TMZ. Both sides have been trying to resolve the conflict through lawyers over the past two weeks, but it hasn’t worked. Tidal has reportedly threatened to sue Kanye and this is not surprising since the company would put up a fight when it comes to Kanye leaving. TMZ also reports that Tidal has threatened to take legal action, giving Kanye a letter saying that he’s still in an exclusive contract and will be sued if he goes to another streaming service.
