70’s Fashion Trend: The Supercool Bell-Bottoms From The Era Past

One fashion trend often rocked by most celebrities to events and other social functions is the bell bottom trousers. Looking back on how it became well known, the fashion trend was initially popular with the hippies as it represented the relaxed, easy-going atmosphere of the era.But it moved back into mainstream in the 70s and soon, it grew in popularity to become a mainstream fashion trend, in demand by both men and women. The pants were typically flared from the knee down, with bottom leg openings of up to twenty-six inches.Made from denim, bright cotton and satin polyester, they were so popular that they became a symbol of the outlandish and colourful style of the decade. Men preferred to match polyester bell bottoms with suit jackets while women showed off high-waisted bell bottoms.Celebrities in the limelight like Farrah Fawcett and the musical group, Sonny and Cher helped popularize bell-bottoms the more by wearing them on their famous television show.
