Food: Healthy Trends You Can Enjoy This Year

We hope you had a great holiday season and tried as much as possible to stay healthy with your eating options. If you didn’t, then its a new year and you start with a clean slate. The most important thing is to always remember that eating healthy is first of all a choice then a lifestyle if you remain steadfast.
In 2016, you might not have been very aware of the food trends that were making waves. Some of these trends will still feature in 2017 and experts are already talking about the healthy options you can incorporate into your meals straight from you kitchen at home.
Smoothies: Last year brought about an increased awareness on this delicious treat. Although people have been treating themselves to healthy and maybe not so healthy portions of smoothies then blaming it on the hot weather, we can rest assured that this year there will be more yummy delights from the smoothie department. With new and exciting recipes popping up everywhere, you can count on getting a smoothie fetish this year. If you are not cut out for the make-it-yourself version, more restaurants have it on their menu already and you can count on many more swinging this way.
Vegan Food: Some may call it ‘weed eating’ but the kind of fame vegan food enjoyed in 2016 is definitely rolling over in 2017. Eating plant-based is becoming more and more trendy—and for good reason. Abstaining from meat, dairy and eggs may help you lose weight, have a healthier heart and live longer. And if you can’t imagine your life without meat, you can still embrace a part-time vegan diet and eat more plants. We think we’ll see more vegan foods on the shelves at grocery stores this year, but fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts and whole grains are healthy vegan staples to eat more of.
Slim Tea: 2016 was the year of the slim tea. From top celebrities to the Jennifer next door talking about it, it was like nothing we had ever seen before. With all the slim tea endorsement going around, you can bet it that this year, the slim tea will still be one of the most popular trend in health and feeding.Experts on the other hand have been writing a whole lot of things about the side effects of slimming teas majorly because of some of the ingredients that we can’t even pronounce. Here is our do-it-yourself alternative for the same end result; slimming. Take a fresh ginger root and cut it into small pieces, pour it in a cup of boiling water and allow it to steep for few minutes. Sieve out the pieces and drink this tea when it is warm.
Grains And Cereal: Last year, people became more aware of the need to eat healthy. More people even used the #fitfam, why? because fitness was the in thing.  We saw more grains and cereal popping up in diets especially in the form of the granola bar. This year of course you can expect more grains and more cereal as everyone wants to diet now. And if they are not dieting to loose weight or get flatter tummies there are still others working hard to earn their six-packs.
